Metabarcoding Data Toolkit

This MDT publishes metabarcoding data from any institution or collection in Canada, regardless of scope or institution

What’s an MDT?

The GBIF Metabarcoding Data Toolkit – or MDT for short – is a free and open source web application for publishing metabarcoding data. Developed by the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF), this new programme aims to accommodate a broader range of biodiversity data shared through GBIF.

The Canadensys MDT is part of a pilot phase aiming at empowering GBIF nodes to support and mobilize DNA metabarcoding data within their own networks, as well as harvesting feedback from users. If you are interested in using the Canadensys MDT for your own publication needs, see the MDT User Guide and contact us at canadensys.network@gmail.com.
